About Me
Hi! My name is Madison (Maddie) Gesualdo and I am currently a second-semester freshman at Kean University in Union, New Jersey. I am majoring in forensic psychology and minoring in criminal justice, and I hope to one day work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or another government agency.
I always loved reading as a child, and I think it is important that we foster the same passion for reading from previous generations in today's youth. I remember several times in elementary school being reprimanded by my parents because it was time for bed and I hadn't yet finished my chapter of Harry Potter. I started this project in order to help give back to the community, as well as gain valuable service experience in a field that I am interested in.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in a loving home with a wonderful family - however, not every child is dealt that hand in their life. Instead, they can potentially fall victim to various different domestic issues, many of which result in the child having to leave his or her family and be placed in an entirely unfamiliar, terrifying situation. The children in these situations deserve some sense of normalcy in their daily lives, and I belief that their education and interest in learning can help counter some of the other stressors they may be experiencing. Thank you for expressing interest in this opportunity!
