Greg Schmidt has always enjoyed creating stories and characters, but it is not until the last couple of years that he has allowed them to escape from head to page. Career malaise and a dash of mid-life crisis led him to start writing and, more importantly, completing stories once again.
He currently prefers writing short stories of varying genres and inspired by the every day. A passionate vegan and animal lover, many of his stories are about how animals make us feel and about how we treat them in turn.
Since 2023, six of his stories have appeared in the below publications.
2025 Not Quite Write Prize anthology
2024 WestWords Living Stories anthology - Over the Line
2023 Lane Cove Literary Awards anthology
2023/24 Not Quite Write Prize anthology
2023 Stringybark Short Story Awards anthology - Feral
