Artwork and Literature
Julia here - this is the source I mention in the show for a mythology quick reference. Some critiques from me on this text are: 1- that it does not have an index, and 2- it stays very matter-of-fact for some of the more... nuanced myths. All that being said, it is a great starter text with gorgeous artwork that I would recommend for anyone beginning to dive into the myths.
A painting not for the faint of heart. The famous Saturn hangs in el Museo del Prado, located in Madrid, Spain. Goya's haunting use of light (or lack thereof) makes this painting of the titan Saturn (Kronos, Chronos) devouring his son unforgettable. At least we know they all reemerged eventually.
Done in 1702, this is the painting we referenced depicting Athena (Minerva) and Prometheus.
