REACH Synergy brings home the the Gold! The REACH coaching staff couldn’t be more proud. It's hard to beat a team that never gives up… and this weekend, we never gave up! We persevered through a tough season and ended with a gold medal! Good job girls and best of luck with your post secondary adventure.
REACH Prime 16U plays up in 17U #ovachamps battling through injuries, finished with some bronze hardware in Division 1 T4. Great job girls! #reachvolleyball #ova_updates
First Provincials weekend started off by REACH Alpha 13U Boys playing up in 14U. A strong performance by the boys which has lead them to a silver medal . Good job boys!
Better late than never. REACH Affinity claimed GOLD at the McGregor Cup. Affinity bounced back after a couple of 3 set playoffs to take the win! The girls showed their resilience after dropping a set in each of its playoff rounds and kept bouncing back to win the matches.
December was a busy month for everyone as the holidays were fast approaching. REACH Prime, Affinity, Synergy, Havoc and Smash had tournaments in the month of December. REACH Prime 16U finished 2nd in 17U Championship which sets them up for a Premier tournament in January in 17U. REACH Affinity finished 5th as the team continues to battle injuries. REACH Synergy finished with a bronze medal avenging an earlier pool play loss versus a cross town rival and REACH Smash had a very tough match up versus a very disciplined team from Ottawa finishing 2nd. Having already qualified for Premier in 16U REACH Havoc finished 7th testing out different combinations and lineups in 17U.
With all that, REACH wishes everyone a Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
REACH Aspire our newly formed girls 14U team went into their first ever OVA tournament and came out of the gym as the gold medalists last weekend at the Provincial Cup. REACH Alpha our newly formed 13U boys team went into their first tournament with 0 expectations and came out with a 2nd place silver medal finish. REACH is proud of our Aspire and Alpha teams as they played consistently, intensely, and magnificently throughout the day.
GOLD in 17U for REACH Prime in a 3 set nail bitter (in the finals) versus a team that boasted an average height of 5’9.

REACH Prime went into provincials seeded #13 and faced very tough competition with the best teams in the province. Going into Day 1 there were some nerves as they started off very slow, on Day 2 the REACH Prime girls got their rhythm and momentum back. Day 3 it was the one and done, as they were pushed to a 3 set match versus the KW Predators Invasion, they were able to overcome a shaky morning start and move on to the Quarter Finals. The quarters proved to be tough as the #2 team in the province Pakmen showed their high level experience. REACH PRIME Places Top 5 in the province finishing better than their 14U 2016 year of Top 16.
Outstanding performance by our 16U REACH SMASH boys as they came into OVA Provincial Championships rank #9 to leaving OVA Provincial Championships dropping a tight 3 set match in the finals to finish 2nd in the Province (D1 T1). The boys have truly outdone themselves as their win was without any OVA All stars!
REACH Synergy finished their final OVA season with some hardware in a very hard tough Division 1. Congrats and wishing you all the best in your future endeavors! A big thank you goes out to all the coaching staff, REACH family, REACH Supporters and everyone who was apart of this journey #REACHFam

We would like to thank you Meilin Carmichael, Michelle Kuan, Sierra Nam-Wong, Ming Zong, Eastelle Ding, Ashley Lau, Brianna Park, for all the years of loyalty, dedication to the sport, and contributions to the REACH FAMILY. REACH March Break Volleyball Skills Clinic. Steve, Chichky and the clinic coaching staff would like to thank you for an amazing volleyball clinic. Every athlete was eager and hungry to learn and get better. Theme of the clinic “flip the switch.” Good luck to all the athletes in their school seasons/ OVA Volleyball Championships. Stay tuned to the REACH Instagram/Facebook/website (under profile) as we will be having a clinic in the summer prior to the start of the school/ova season. If you have any questions contact Steve or Chichky at reachvolleyballclinics@gmail.com.
REACH Prime and REACH Affinity were in action playing in a year up tournament very close to home. REACH Affinity had some ups, downs, sickness and injuries but were able to finish a respectable 5th. REACH Prime finished the tournament in 1st (Gold medal) with a very dominant performance.
REACH Dynos played on Sunday finishing a respectable 5th and showed defensive resilience. The REACH Dynos have continued to get better with every tournament.
REACH Smash was in action and after a disappointing previous weekend showed they belong with the best, playing up in a 17U tournament. They met up with a team that eliminated them in the last 16U Premier tournament and completely dominated them from start to finish. The finals proved to be a a challenge against crosstown rivals Markham Wildcats, but REACH Smash prevailed and took home a GOLD Medal.
REACH on TWO..1, 2 REACH!
This weekend saw all our girls teams in action, starting off with REACH Synergy in Niagara. All matches were exhausting as they were all 3 setters, but REACH Synergy came home with a Bronze Medal. REACH Prime was in Barrie and were in playing among the best in Ontario in the Premier Division and finished a respectable 5th place. Last not but least our REACH Affinity girls competed in Richmond Hill and finished in 2nd with a SILVER Medal.
The new year came by very quick as our REACH 16U SMASH Boys and 15U DYNOS were put into action in the first weekend of 2017. The SMASH boys shook off the rust from the two week break and came out of the 17U Boys Challenge Cup with a bronze medal. The DYNOS had some rust of their own and finally shook it off by the 2nd playoff rounds but it was much too late, however they did cap off the tournament with a win. HAPPY NEW YEAR from REACH VOLLEYBALL CLUB.
