At REACH, we aim to utilize our research background to assure that we are making a tangible impact in our students' lives. The pre-tests and post-tests are used to gauge knowledge students gained from the curriculum.

If students did not see an increase in understanding, we shift the curriculum to become more clear and comprehensive, assuring that students receive the best education possible.

We evaluate our lessons on a yearly basis alongside our research committee, assuring that our facts and figures are as current and up to date as possible.

Founded in 2023 as a part of UCLA's Global Development Lab Incubator project, REACH works tirelessly to provide students across LA County with the reproductive and sexual education they deserve.

Below is a timeline of how we got started at UCLA!

Winter 2023: Nina Parsee and Veronica Reyes (left) design a research plan to form a reproductive health advocacy organization to improve students' sexual education knowledge
Spring 2023: UCLA REACH is formed, and begins teaching in middle and high school classrooms due to funding from Global Development Lab
Spring 2024: Nina and Veronica graduate from UCLA, setting up future board members for success
Winter 2025: REACH designs committees and implements them so general members can become more involved in the organization and efforts like grant applications, research iniatives, and outreach efforts can be streamlined
Today: REACH works with many schools across LA County, with over 40 active members, 8 Executive Board members, and 4 committees
