Activities:

  1. How to write an 8 bar groove using just LOOPS🔁 (Let's write one together):

Recap: A Bar- has a specific number of beats- usually 4. It makes it easier for us to count the length of a section in a song.

What are the parts that make up a song?

  • Drum/beats: The rhythm of the song:- when you listen to a song this is what you bop your head to!

This creates the style of your song- ballad, hip pop, rock..

  • Basslines: Low pitches that create a pattern to-- Emphasize the chord sound and the rhythm of the song.

They help define the style of your song!

  • Chords: A set of pitches ( multiple notes) usually played at the same time -- 2 notes or more.

Creates the feel of the song!-- dark, happy..

  • Melodies: It's an ongoing sequence of notes. 🎶

The most memorable part of the song. When you think of a song what do you sing? --The melody!
