Short Biography

Ratnnadeep Sawant has been Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Dr. Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi, Nagpur since August 2016. He studied BSc (Chemistry, Botany, Zoology) and MSc (Organic Chemistry) at the Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded, Maharashtra. He worked as IAS-INSA-NASI Summer Research Fellow of Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore and obtained his PhD (Chemistry) with Shun-Yuan Luo at the National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan. He did first postdoctoral work with Chun-Cheng Lin (NTHU, Hsinchu, Taiwan) before starting his independent academic career. His second postdoctoral work with Wei-Chieh Cheng (Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan) during his academic tenure at Dr. Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi, Nagpur. He was invited to join Bentham Publisher, Singapore U.A.E. as Bentham Science Ambassador India since 2019. His research interests include development of transition metal and metal free catalysed green techniques for organic transformations. Sixty three (63) PG dissertations has been completed under his guidance. He is teaching Organic Chemistry courses to graduate and postgraduate students.
