Chess Competition Rules & Regulation

1. No External Help or Computer assistance is allowed (No Cheating is allowed)

2. All the Games will be Supervised and checked by our Anti Cheating Committee

3. Anti Cheating Committee has full right to remove suspicious player from prize list even if the lichess account of that player in NOT BANNED.

4. Banned Lichess Accounts from Lichess will not be eligible for prizes.

5. Use of Chess engines is strictly prohibited.

6. Organizers have the right to restrict or prohibit players from play if found cheating.

7. You are requested to join the whatsapp group for participants using the link on screen after submitting this form.

8. All Participants will receive Participation certificate only if they play all the rounds.

10. Certificates will be distributed only after verification of winner after documentary evidence.

11. Organizers will not be responsible for any network related issue during the tournament.

Poem Recitation Competition Rules and Regulations

- Participants need to upload their video while reciting poem

- Please ensure to record the name clearly of the participant and the song title in the beginning of the video

- Please make sure your videos should be between 1-3 minutes only

- The language for Poem is to be in English, Hindi and Marathi

- You can use your mobile phone to record video

- Please submit your recording on or before 23-01-2022

- Do not read from book and recite the poem. This will be rejected immediately

- You need to remember and then recite the poem

- Your poem recording will be checked on the basis of the time taken for the poem, no of lines in poem, fluency, voice clarity, context to the topic and pronunciation and intonation errors

- The judges decision will be final

- In case of conflict participant of youngest will be winner

- Rotary club of Palava reserves complete right to use the materials submitted during competition.

- Winners poem will be published to Rotary club of Palava channels

Essay Writing Competition Rules and Regulations

- The topics are research topic, you can use google to research your essays

- Please make sure you write minimum of 700 words

- Please make sure to write your name and title of the essay in footer of each page

- The language for essay is to be in English only, use Microsoft word or LibreOffice writer to write your essay, print the essay in PDF format and submit it to us.

- No other format than PDF will be accepted

- Please submit your pdf document on or before 23-01-2022

- Do not write on paper and take photo and make pdf. This will be rejected immediately

- Your essay will be checked on the basis of plagiarism, no. of words, writing skills, composition, context to the topic and grammar and spelling errors

- Please ensure you do not copy and paste from online resources, we will be checking and validating them and your entry will be rejected.

- The judges decision will be final

- Rotary club of Palava reserves complete right to use the materials submitted during competition.

Swiss Tournament Chess Rules

In a swiss tournament, all participants play the same number of games, and can only play each other once.

A win is worth one point, a draw is a half point, and a loss is zero points.

When a player can't be paired during a round, they receive a bye worth one point.

Tournament Style Swiss tournaments

Duration of the tournament 9 Rounds, 3 minutes each round

Number of games 9 rounds of games for each player

Pairing system Automatic pairing based on points and tie breaks

Identical pairing Not allowed

Late join Possible until more than half the rounds have started

Pause reduces the number of rounds

*Winners* will be decided based on the no. of games played and their total score.
