Through a series of questions and answers the Club learned of Paul’s extensive role in many fields of Rotary which included two terms as President of Tamworth North Rotary Club before coming to join us at the Rotary Club of Toowoomba South.
President Gary presented Paul with a Double Sapphire Pin, a Paull Harris Fellowship award for exceptional and continuous service to Rotary over 50 years.
The club toasted Paul on receiving his second Saphire Pin.
In a joint project with members of the Pittsworth and Southbrook Probus Club, Tmba South Rotary recently had another very productive afternoon splitting firewood at Hedley and Gail Eulenstein's property at Wellcamp.
This project serves multiple purposes; raising funds for the Club's Community Service Projects by providing a supply of affordable firewood for elderly and needy people in the district, while at the same time helping Hedley tidy up some of the dead trees on his property.

Working away in the background were Hedley Eulenstein, Evan Fairley, Roy Hall, Denis Brown, Mitch Humphry and Stan Carter, along with Stan's grandson Sebastian and Evan's grandson Ewan.
Thank you Gail and Helen for the afternoon tea.
What a great night the Club had last night! Thank you to everyone who came and bought friends where possible. It was a freezing Toowoomba night yet there we were out having fun.
The food prepared by the ladies was fabulous and every club member able to come was there and doing something to make the night a success. This is a great start to the year for our club.
Once again The Rotary Club of Toowoomba South is sponsoring an evening of entertainment at the Toowoomba Repertory Theatre at 94 Margaret Street Toowoomba on Tuesday 1st July.
The Sunshine Boys promises to be a good night's entertainment and our club looks forward to welcoming you to the theatre.

Al and Willie as "Lewis and Clark" were top-billed vaudevillians for over forty years. Now they aren't even speaking. When CBS requests them for a "History of Comedy" retrospective, a grudging reunion brings the two back together, along with a flood of memories, miseries and laughs.
Content Warning - This play includes a short vaudeville comedy sketch, which includes themes which might be considered unacceptable by today's social norms, namely objectification and sexual innuendo.
Tickets are just $25 each and bookings are now available by contacting Gary Orth by email at g2orth@hotmail.com or by phone on 0417 380 650

Applications for the 2025 National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) Year 12 Program are open until 15 July 2024.
Last year’s program was a two centre, residential event held in Canberra and Brisbane. Although there are different programs held at each venue they are similar events but run over two different nine day periods in January.
Participants get to try Uni accommodation (King’s College, UQ last year), meet other like-minded students (a bit like being at Uni), become involved in a continuing NYSF community (alumni stay involved and keep in touch for years), are encouraged to use LinkedIn and connect with presenters, as well as the more obvious content and field trips to see real life scientific research and industry projects. They will also be invited to Governor House and meet her Excellency.
Year 11 students who are studying sciences or a mixture of science and arts ATAR subjects should apply. They will be courted by major Universities and Companies as they provide the content and sponsorship.
Rotary is a founding partner and provides support in time and money to make the events happen. For many years now the Rotary Club of Toowoomba South has sponsored one or two students a year and will likely do so again this year.
The application process is online and there is a non-refundable application fee of $65 and the cost of the program for 2025 is $2,990.
