The Research Center in Mathematics and Statistics with Applications (RCMASA), Prince of Songkla University, was honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Hizir Sofyan from the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia, as a guest speaker for the special lecture entitled

The lecture was held at Room M309, Mathematics and Statistics Building, Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University on July 31, 2026.

The event aimed to promote academic learning and knowledge exchange, while providing valuable perspectives on emerging trends and applications of Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence for the present and the future. 📊

International Statistics Symposium 🤝

The Research Center for Mathematics and Applied Statistics at Prince of Songkla University, in collaboration with Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia, hosted the International Statistics Symposium on June 22-23, 2026. The event took place at the LRC Building, Education and Innovative Learning Academy Building (EILA 6), Prince of Songkla University.

The symposium aimed to foster regional knowledge exchange in applied statistics and data science. Furthermore, it served as a platform for Master’s degree students in applied statistics and computer science from both universities to present their research findings and share insights on various related topics.

International Academic Collaboration Activity🤝

The Research Center for Mathematics and Applied Statistics visited The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, during 20 – 22 August 2025.
The delegation, led by the Director together with members and students of the center, aimed to explore graduate programs, research activities, and to foster academic collaboration and potential joint research between the two institutions. This visit reflects the center’s commitment to strengthening academic networks and building sustainable partnerships.
