Course Map

Preferred Course

Please note:

  • Course: Eagle Beach > Hamsterly Beach > P1 > P2 > Stump Buoy > VCRC dock

  • This course is almost 5km long.

  • There will be no special buoy set, just the 5 static umpire boats plus the regular 2k course.

  • Boats have to go around the Point 2 island.

  • One safety boat will follow the hound and call rabbits that have been passed by the hounds to step down.

  • For saftey, all the boats have to complete the race course. No short cuts please. If the hound catches you early, just continue on the race course at a leisure pace and come back to the dock.

Alternative Course

If the boat wakes and/or the weather conditions are too rough on Elk Lake we have an alternative course in the Channel and Beaver lake:

  • Course: Stump Buoy > End of Channel > Beaver Lake buoy > P2 > End of the Channel > Beaver Lake buoy > P2

  • This course is almost 5.5 km long.

  • There will be no special buoy set, just the 4 static umpire boats plus the buoy line down the channel.

  • As the boats go down the channel they have to go around the umpire boat at the end of the channel.

  • When the boats come up channel towards Point 2 they will turn well before the traffic coming down the 2k course. They turn around the umpire boat.

  • No safety boat will follow the hound to call rabbits that have been passed by the hounds to step down.

  • Once you have been passed by the hound please go to the side and carefully make your way out of Beaver Lake and the channel. Make sure you do not interfere with any crews that are still in the competition. The backdoor is a great alternative to make your way back to the dock.
