Rockingham Community College hosted its Annual Job Fair By Seth Massey. April 3, 2025.Rockingham Community College hosted the 2025 Job Fair yesterday in the Keys Gymnasium. Job seekers were encouraged to dress as though they were going for a job interview, and to bring copies of their resumes to give potential employers.All of this preparation came to this big moment. More than 70 employers were present, with a wide range of jobs including those in government, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and others. "We've got a wide variety of jobs..." said Leigh Anne Bassinger, the Director of Human Resources for the City of Reidsville. "We've got law enforcement, we've got fire suppression... I.T. positions... engineering, building inspections..." and much more.There were also numerous agencies that were there to assist students in their job searches."We'll be glad to help you with employment, re-employment, and the resources you need to be successful." said Sheryl Stevens, the Career Center Manager at NCWorks. "We've got a job for you!"The Job Fair also gave students the opportunity to explore jobs within the school system."We're a great school district that serves about 11,000 students," said Lowell Rogers, the Executive Director of Human Resources at Rockingham County Schools. "...we would love to talk to anyone that would be interested in working with our students and staff."The event is coordinated by RCC’s Career Development Services office, which offers one-on-one job readiness preparation such as resume writing, interview skills, and related job search guidance, in addition to classes and workshops providing opportunities for people to become more employable.This year's Job Fair was sponsored by Sheetz, Lowes Foods, Pepsi, NCWorks, and Canteen.
