SGC is an international faith community a gathering of God’s citizens from all over the world. We are an open, loving, sharing, missional, peace-making, justice-seeking, and environmentally-friendly church located in Songdo International City in Incheon.
We believe that God is present both among us and within each one of us beyond our exterior differences of nationality, gender, race, and cultural background. All together, we are one transforming family of God.
SGC started its ministry as the international congregation of Jooan Methodist Church in Incheon, and moved to Songdo in 2014 to serve more global neighbors. Jooan Church still remains our mother church.
Visiting a new church can often feel intimidating, and knowing what to expect can make your first visit much easier. We are a small but growing community of both Koreans and expats from several nations. You can expect to be welcomed warmly and treated kindly. We aren’t too formal, so if you dress like you are meeting a new friend for coffee you’ll feel right at home.
Our worship style is modern with traditional elements. We believe that God is present among us as we worship Him together and that as we sing praises, give offerings, and listen to His word being preached, He encourages, comforts, strengthens, and corrects us. We sing modern versions of traditional hymns as well as songs that have been written recently. You’ll hear a sermon preached from a passage in the Bible that seeks to explain what it meant to the original hearers and what it means for us now. You’ll be encouraged to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and to love those around you.
After the service is finished, we enjoy a small lunch and coffee together in our cafe area.
