The following was written by Robert Wentworth Little, a key figure in the formative years of the Order in England. It was printed in the April 1869 edition of a London masonic quarterly, The Rosicrucian: A Quarterly Record of the Society's Transactions with occasional notes on Freemasonry, and other kindred subjects, which was edited by Little and William Robert Woodman, MD, who were then respectively the Supreme Magus and Secretary-General of the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (SRIA). It was in print at least from 1868 to 1875.
The following poem, 'The Cross of Constantine' was also written by Robert Wentworth Little. It was printed in the October 1868 edition of The Rosicrucian.
