Project Overview

This project will provide for me the opportunity to act as a financial portfolio manager through the course of summer 2018. The project will involve finding different stocks in different market sectors and valuing them in an effort to find ones that I think will bring in a positive return while protecting the principal invested ($150,000).

Weekly, I will draft a report to my ‘clientele’ to report to them the changes to the portfolio and (hopefully) the progress that was made. I will make changes to the portfolio composition as time moves forward and those changes will also be included in the weekly reports. I will not be risking any real money in this project, and will assume that each stock trade will cost $20.

As a result of this project, I will become more competent and comfortable with investing principles. I will also increase my marketability due to increased exposure and experience with investing. There is also potential to improve my overall understanding of Market Cycles.

Liquidate Assets and record total gain or loss and annualize the percent return
Build final summarization and comparison report
Write a reflection of the project
Organize the project files into a report (Excel or Google Doc)
