Regenerative BioEngineering Laboratory

In our lab, we are engaged in various research projects that aim to advance regenerative medicine. Specifically, we are focusing on the development of functional biomaterials that utilize bioactive materials and tissue-specific extracellular matrix to regenerate or repair damaged tissues and organs. Additionally, we are exploring the potential of artificial cell constructs to replicate the structural, physical, and biological characteristics of human tissues, which can provide a microenvironment for stem cells to proliferate and differentiate into desired tissues. Our work involves integrating these constructs into biofabrication/biomanufacturing technologies that incorporate mechanical and electrical systems. Finally, we are also analyzing the safety and regenerative effects of these constructs by evaluating their various biological, chemical, and physical properties and assessing their effectiveness in promoting in vivo tissue regeneration using animal models of disease.
