I am a parent of current and former students in Tempe, AZ.
I currently serve as vice president of the Tempe Elementary School Board.
I taught music in Arizona's public schools for 16 years.
I work for Access ASU at Arizona State University. I manage the Meta Network for School Improvement. My team works to increase the number of first-generation students who enroll in a well-matched postsecondary institution.
I am adjunct faculty at the Phoenix College School of Music.
I am a semi-pro musician; I perform a few times a month.
I love to play golf and chess in my free time; I am decidedly mediocre at both.Â
I am originally from Olathe, KS, and I have made Arizona my home since 2003.
I earned music education degrees from Arizona State University: BM 2007, MM 2015.
I am so lucky to be married to my wife, Erin. In addition to being an amazing partner and mother, she has been a public school teacher and advocate for 22 years.
