Ray Nolting

While Nolting is not as well known as many of his Chicago Bear teammates, he was nonetheless the cornerstone of the Monsters of the Midway in the late1930’s and early 1940’s.

He had an amazing football career of “Firsts”. He was the first University of Cincinnati All-American and UC’s first professional all-pro and team MVP. Ray was the University’s first head football coach after a WWII hiatus he rebuilt the school's football program, taking his 1947 squad to the school’s first Bowl game and victory; defeating Virginia Teach in the Sun Bowl.
