Ray Levitt is a composer, sound designer, and guitarist based in Philadelphia. Currently, they are pursuing a Bachelor's in Music Composition and a certificate in Music Technology from the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University. Ray previously studied at the School of Music at the University of the Arts. They have studied with composers such as Dr. Erin Busch, David Bennett Thomas, and Tom Hedden. Ray has a varied background in music, from playing the viola in school orchestras since the fourth grade, picking up the guitar at thirteen, and performing in rock and jazz bands throughout high school. 

Ray loves to constantly challenge themselves with different instrument pairings and finding new ways in which they can combine different genres. 

Their works have been performed by ensembles such as the Network for New Music, the Relache Ensemble, the Temple Transfusion Ensemble, the Temple Wind Symphony, the Temple New Music Ensemble, and rock band SPICY FRUIT. 

Ray's works explore emotions that can't quite be put into words, and aims to create atmospheres in which the listener can explore those feelings within themselves. 

In a theatrical setting, Ray uses sound design to craft and compose soundscapes for theater and film that not only transport the viewer into the story, but create another medium in which emotion can live. 

As a performer, Ray strives to create community. Guitarist of Imperia, Ray loves the underground scene and bringing people together with music. They also have experience with booking, live sound engineering, and stage handing.
