If you want maximum battery life and true active noise cancelling in a sealed in-ear design, choose Raycon Fitness; if you need an open-fit earbud that keeps you aware of traffic and your surroundings while you run, choose WALLA SOUND WallaBuds Fit Open. These two solve different problems, and picking the wrong one will annoy you daily.
• Raycon Fitness — biggest trade-off: It seals your ear canal, so you block out the world whether you want to or not. Awareness Mode helps, but it is not the same as a truly open design.
• WALLA SOUND WallaBuds Fit Open — biggest strength: The open-fit hook design leaves your ear canal unobstructed, so you hear cars, cyclists and coworkers while your music plays. IPX4 handles sweat and light rain.
• WALLA SOUND WallaBuds Fit Open — biggest trade-off: Up to 28 hours total playtime, no active noise cancelling, and a shorter 90-day warranty. Less isolation, less runtime, less coverage.
• Pick Raycon Fitness if you train indoors or in loud gyms, want to disappear into your music, and hate charging.
• Pick WALLA SOUND WallaBuds Fit Open if you run or ride outdoors, take calls on the move, and value hearing your environment over total immersion.
The Raycon Fitness is built around one idea: keep the outside world out and keep going. The sealed in-ear design uses gel tips and stabilizers to lock the bud in place, and the IPX7 rating means sweat, rain and heavy training sessions are not a concern. That is the highest water protection between these two, and it is the number that matters most if you are the kind of person who soaks a shirt through on a long run.
Battery is the headline. Raycon lists up to 56 hours of total playtime, and the description notes 38 hours on a single charge with a 15-minute top-up giving 2 hours of playback. For a frequent traveler, a shift worker, or someone who simply forgets to charge, that is a genuinely useful cushion. Active Noise Cancelling plus Awareness Mode covers both moods — tune out on a plane, then flip to awareness when you step onto a busy street.
Buy it if you want isolation, huge runtime, and the confidence of IPX7. Skip it if you mainly run outdoors on open roads and need to hear what is coming up behind you — that is not what a sealed ANC bud is for.
WALLA SOUND WallaBuds Fit Open: Who It's For
The WallaBuds Fit Open takes the opposite approach. Instead of plugging your ear canal, it hangs over the ear on a hook and fires sound toward you, leaving your canal open. The result: you hear your podcast and the car behind you at the same time. For runners, cyclists, and anyone working in an office where a colleague might say your name, that awareness is the entire point.
It is also the lighter, more casual option. The hook-style build uses plastic and silicone, which is a soft, forgiving combination for long wear, and at roughly 0.17 kg for the package it is clearly a lighter proposition than the Raycon's 4.96 ounces. IPX4 covers sweat and light rain — enough for the gym or a drizzle on the way there, but not for swimming or a downpour.
Battery is up to 28 hours total: 8 hours per charge in the buds plus roughly 20 more from the case. A full recharge takes about 1.5 hours over USB-C, and the case holds a 500 mAh cell, so topping up is quick and painless. Bluetooth 5.3 with one-touch multi-device pairing covers phone, tablet and laptop, and there is a 10-meter range. Calls rely on Environmental Noise Cancellation, which reduces background noise on the mic side rather than cancelling sound in your ear.
One thing to weigh honestly: the warranty runs 90 days, versus a full year on the Raycon. And with no ANC and no headphone jack, this is a purely wireless, awareness-first earbud.
Buy it if you want open-ear awareness, a lighter fit, and simple USB-C charging. Skip it if you fly a lot, work in loud environments, or want the deepest possible isolation.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for battery life → Raycon Fitness. Up to 56 hours total versus up to 28 hours on the WallaBuds.
• Best for noise cancelling → Raycon Fitness. It has genuine Active Noise Cancelling; the WallaBuds use Environmental Noise Cancellation for calls only.
• Best for water and sweat protection → Raycon Fitness. IPX7 versus IPX4 — a real difference if you train hard or get caught in the rain.
• Best for long-wear comfort and a barely-there feel → WALLA SOUND WallaBuds Fit Open. The hook design and lighter build suit all-day, low-key use.
• Best for calls in a quiet-to-moderate setting → either. Raycon uses dual beamforming mics; the WallaBuds lean on ENC. Both target voice clarity, just with different approaches.
• Best for charging convenience → WALLA SOUND WallaBuds Fit Open. USB-C with a full recharge in about 1.5 hours is simple and fast.
• Best for warranty peace of mind → Raycon Fitness. A one-year limited manufacturer warranty beats 90 days.
• Best for commuting on noisy transit → Raycon Fitness. ANC plus a sealed fit is the combination that actually quiets a train or plane.
In my opinion, the Raycon Fitness is the stronger buy for most people. The 56-hour runtime, IPX7 protection, real Active Noise Cancelling and one-year warranty cover more situations — the gym, the commute, the flight, the long workday — without asking you to compromise. I would pick the WALLA SOUND WallaBuds Fit Open only if open-ear awareness is non-negotiable for you, like running on roads with traffic or working somewhere you need to hear people. If that is your life, the WallaBuds are the right tool. Otherwise, the Raycon Fitness does more, for longer, with better protection. Either way, check the current price on Amazon before you commit, since that is the one spec I cannot compare for you here.
Not universally — they are built for different jobs. Raycon wins on battery (56 vs 28 hours), water protection (IPX7 vs IPX4), active noise cancelling and warranty length. The WallaBuds win on open-ear awareness and a lighter fit. Match the design to your use case.
They have Environmental Noise Cancellation, which works on the microphone side to clean up your voice on calls. They do not have Active Noise Cancelling that quiets sound in your ears, and by design an open-fit earbud lets outside sound in.
Yes. Raycon rates them IPX7, which covers sweat, rain and intense training. The WallaBuds are IPX4, which handles sweat and splashes but not heavy rain or submersion.
Raycon lists up to 38 hours of playtime on a single charge, with 15 minutes of charging giving 2 hours of playback. The WallaBuds give 8 hours per charge plus about 20 more from the case, for up to 28 hours total. Raycon is clearly ahead.
