I started working at Brooklands as an apprentice in 1962. My father then was the Foreman of the Production Carpenters department he went on to be the "General Works Foreman" or the Forman's Foreman. He started there in 1939 and retired in 1971.
During my apprenticeship I worked in the instrument workshop of the R & D department headed by Dr. Barnes Wallis. Later I worked in the Wind Tunnel workshop using state of the art machines tools of the day.
Dad died in 2004 and I was able to look through his papers, books, photographs and leaflets of his time at Brooklands. In 2013 having retired myself and with a bit of time on my hands I started a computer project to visualise the Weybridge site using the then new Autodesk program "Sketch up", a 3D modelling system.
