Guiding Principles for life
Similar to the wave-particle duality of matter, I believe humans do live in a duality, that is, mind-body duality.
Life = Security - Freedom (Free energy = enthalpic energy - entropic energy)
Reversible/Sustainable Living: In thermodynamics, equilibrium is the absence of net driving force in thermal, mechanical and chemical dimensions. Similarly, to me, equilibrium for human life is the state of mind without the driving force of desires. The most efficient way of carrying out a process is by infinitesimal driving force. Similarly, the most efficient way of living is with minimum desires in material world and maximizing love in mental world.Â
The path taken is important over the state reached. The direction for action (karma) is given by constructiveness (dharma), not the result (phala).
Pleasures (sukha) are short-lived whereas Happiness (ananda) is permanent.
