Ratul Puri contributes to India’s corporate landscape through his work in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Over the years, he has remained actively involved in the development of power generation and renewable energy projects, supporting the growth of the country’s energy capacity. Ratul Puri pursued his higher education at Carnegie Mellon University, one of the world’s leading institutions, which provided a strong foundation for his career. He completed his undergraduate studies with a focus on engineering and business management, gaining both technical and managerial expertise

An alumnus of Carnegie Mellon University, Ratul Puri has received multiple notable honours, including Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young (2002), recognition among the Top 21 Young Leaders in India by Business Today (2007), and the Young Global Leader title by the World Economic Forum (2008). He was also named CEO of the Year by the World Brand Congress (2014) and the Asian Power Awards (2015). In addition, The Economic Times recognized him in 2014 for his contribution to India’s infrastructure sector.

Under Ratul Puri’s guidance, Hindustan Power has led several key initiatives, including signing a 25-year PPA for a 435 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh and securing a 100 MW ISTS-connected solar project with a 200 MWh BESS in collaboration with SJVN Limited.

The company has also expanded its energy storage efforts with a 120 MWh standalone BESS project, received an LOI from BSPGCL for battery storage development in Bihar, and signed an MoU with the Government of Assam to invest ₹620 crore in solar and energy storage projects.
