Privacy Policy — Rateo - BNPL Tracker

Who we are
Rateo - BNPL Tracker ("the App") is an application designed to help you track your Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) installment plans from different providers (Klarna, PayPal, Amazon, Scalapay, Afterpay, Clearpay, Affirm, Alma, Zip, Shop Pay), credit cards, and bank accounts, giving you a unified overview. Privacy sits at the heart of everything we build in Rateo - BNPL Tracker.

Data we DO NOT collect
Rateo - BNPL Tracker runs entirely on your device. There is no remote server or backend, and the App does not require account creation or login. As a result:
● We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any other identifying information.
● We do not collect or transmit any information about your payment plans, amounts, providers, or due dates to any external server.
● We do not use analytics tools, behavioral tracking, or usage-statistics collection (no third-party analytics SDKs).
● We do not use crash-reporting tools that transmit data to external servers.
● We do not sell, share, or disclose any data to third parties, simply because we don't collect or store any data outside your device.

Data stored on your device
All information you enter into the App — payment plans, amounts, providers, categories, monthly budget, language and currency preferences — is saved exclusively locally, using your device's native storage mechanisms (app storage). This data:
● Never leaves your device unless you manually export it (see "Backup and Data Export" below).
● Is automatically deleted if you uninstall the App.
● Is accessible only to you, through the App itself.

Backup and Data Export
Rateo - BNPL Tracker offers (as a PRO feature) the ability to export your data to a local backup file, and re-import it later. This file is generated and saved according to the method you choose (e.g., saved on your device or shared via your operating system's native sharing features). Rateo - BNPL Tracker has no access to this file once exported: its handling and storage are entirely under your control.

Device Permissions
Rateo - BNPL Tracker requests a few system permissions to work correctly: Notifications (to send you local reminders about your upcoming installments, generated and shown entirely on your device); Calendar (only if you enable sync, to add due dates as events in your personal calendar); Battery optimization exemption (to make sure reminders arrive on time, no data collection involved); Photo library (only if you choose to attach a screenshot to a problem report). You can deny or revoke any of these permissions at any time from your device settings.

PRO Subscription and Payments
Rateo - BNPL Tracker offers additional features through a paid subscription (PRO), available as an Annual or Lifetime plan, activated via in-app purchase. All payments are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, in accordance with their respective privacy policies. Rateo - BNPL Tracker does not receive, see, or store any data related to credit cards, payment methods, or billing details — this information remains entirely managed by Apple/Google.

BNPL Providers Mentioned in the App
The provider names (Klarna, PayPal, Amazon, etc.) you can select in the App serve solely as a descriptive label chosen by you to organize your payment plans. Rateo - BNPL Tracker does not connect to, integrate with, or exchange any data with these services: we have no access to your accounts with these providers, nor do we receive information from them.

Platform-Level Statistics (Apple/Google)
App Store Connect and Google Play Console — the platforms through which we distribute Rateo - BNPL Tracker — automatically collect some aggregate technical statistics for any published app (for example, number of installs, sessions, anonymous crash counts, ratings). This collection is performed directly by Apple and Google as part of operating their respective stores, not by Rateo - BNPL Tracker: we have not integrated any analytics SDK into the App, and this aggregate data does not allow us to identify you or your specific use of the App. This collection is governed by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies, not by this Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy
Rateo - BNPL Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by local regulations), and we do not knowingly collect any data from minors — consistent with the fact that the App does not collect personal data from any user, regardless of age.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when new App features are introduced. We encourage you to review this page periodically. The "last updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent version.

Problem Reporting
If you choose to use the "Report a Problem" feature in Settings, the description you write, your device model and operating system version (detected automatically), and any screenshots you attach are included in an email sent through the email app configured on your device to report@rateobnpl.com. This feature is entirely optional; no Rateo server or backend is involved in sending it.
