1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
To provide a premium and seamless experience, RasoAI collects and processes specific data inputs transiently or locally.
A. Camera Access (Multimodal Pantry Scanning)
What We Collect: Temporary access to your device's camera.
Why We Collect It: The camera is used solely to capture images of the ingredients in your kitchen/fridge during active "Scan Pantry" sessions.
How We Process It: Captured images are processed transiently to identify ingredient listings via secure AI APIs. RasoAI does not store, upload, or persist your physical photos or camera streams on permanent remote databases.
B. Microphone Access (Hinglish Speech-to-Text Input)
What We Collect: Temporary access to your device's microphone and audio recordings.
Why We Collect It: The microphone is used exclusively when you tap the mic icon to dictate ingredients in English, Hindi, or Hinglish.
How We Process It: Audio recordings are processed securely to transcribe spoken words into structured ingredient list inputs. No voice recordings, audio logs, or voice metadata are saved, distributed, or permanently archived.
C. Device and Usage Information
What We Collect: Anonymous device identifiers, crash logs, and diagnostic data (via Firebase Crashlytics and standard platform telemetry).
Why We Collect It: To monitor app stability, troubleshoot runtime errors, analyze interface speed, and optimize future features.
2. Third-Party Services and Analytics
To power advanced features and keep the app 100% free, we integrate secure third-party platforms. These services handle data in accordance with their respective privacy policies:
Artificial Intelligence Services: We securely send transient ingredient lists to secure AI processors to generate relevant culinary guides. No personally identifiable information (PII) is included in these requests.
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): We display mobile advertisements to keep our app free. AdMob may utilize standard device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID) to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
Google Firebase (Crashlytics & Analytics): Used to capture anonymous crash metrics and app flow analytics to protect platform stability.
3. Data Protection and Retention
Data Minimization: We follow the principle of data minimization. We only ask for device permissions (Camera, Microphone, Notifications) when strictly necessary to execute user-initiated actions.
Local Storage: Your virtual pantry lists, customized recipe bookmarks, and taste preferences are saved locally on your device's storage. You can wipe this data completely at any time by clearing the application's cache or uninstalling the app.
Security Standards: We implement industry-standard security protocols (including SSL/TLS encryption) to secure all data transitions between the app and external APIs.
4. Children’s Privacy
RasoAI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it from our systems.
5. Your Rights and Data Deletion
Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of any data processed by us. Since we do not maintain persistent user accounts on a remote server, you can exercise total control over your data by:
Clearing app data and cache inside your Android/iOS settings.
Uninstalling the RasoAI application from your device.
