Well, to be a good parent is not an easy task. If any of you who is reading this article think to swallow in capsules, sorry, no shortcut available. However, still there are ways and methodologies. With a little attention and effort, we can achieve it.
The first step to become a good parent is the readiness for change. Throw away your egos. Come down a little. If you do not have any control over your child and you are completely in nurturing parent stage, come up a little. Moreover, the realization of the fact that “the known is a drop and the unknown is an ocean” will help you to become a better parent.
Once you are ready for change, the foremost thing is to verify how your communication with your children at present. Your communication to the child is the stimulation, guide, energy and catalyst for them. When we talk about communication, this is not the only verbal communication. Your action, your look, and your gestures – all count in communication apart from your verbal communication to your child. Just think how many of you come down to your knees to be face to face to your little child when you communicate with them – though not often but at least occasionally. The surprising fact is that we not only come to our child’s absorbing levels but we talk to them in a higher stage even they cannot absorb or understand – which is the beginning of the problem in most of the cases. So communicate with children in their own absorbing capacity level.
