By doing this step, you will be able to create clear and compelling goal statements for your fishery that you can use to inform your decisions for your fishery in the future. Given the status of our fishery worldwide, managing access to the fishery is one strategy that has to be incorporated under ecological and social goals.
This step explores the commonly caught fish by fishers in your area and its critical habitats. You will get to see data from participatory coastal and fisheries resources assessments.
Prioritizing Species & Habitats and Evaluating MPAs (SMARTT-SBDA)
This step explores the different coastal zones of Siargao. You will get to identify current uses of coastal zones and analyze its impact on the communities. A workshop on proposing new coastal zones will by the main output of this module as a working document to the goals that you set in your fishery in Step 1. Your proposed zones will be discussed and consulted with other members of your coastal community before it will be finalized and turned into a policy.
