Privacy Policy for Rare & Bound

Rare & Bound ("the App") is designed with your privacy as a priority. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information. In short: the App has no accounts and does not collect your personal information. Everything you enter is stored on your own device.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information.
The App has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of its own. All information you enter is stored only on your device, and we have no access to it. This includes subscriptions, billing periods, prices, start dates, activity you log, pre-order details, credit balances, countdowns, your book collection and any photos you add, and your theme preference.
2. Information Collected Automatically
We do not automatically collect any information. The App does not use analytics, tracking tools, advertising identifiers, or crash-reporting services, and does not collect device identifiers, usage data, diagnostic information, or location data.
When you add a book, the App looks up its details and cover using Open Library and, if needed, Google Books. The App sends these services only the book's ISBN or its title and author. Book cover images are also loaded from these services when books are displayed. As with any web request, these services receive your device's IP address, and their own privacy policies apply to that information.
3. How Your Information Is Used
Your information is used only to provide the App's features to you: displaying your subscriptions and collection, calculating totals, scheduling reminders, and looking up book details and covers. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
4. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, the App can send you reminders about upcoming subscription renewals. These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. No information is sent to us or anyone else to provide this feature. You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell or share your personal information, because we do not collect it. The only information that leaves your device is the book lookups and cover images described in section 2, which go directly to Open Library or Google Books. The App contains no advertising.
6. Data Storage and Security
All of your data is stored on your device using its standard storage and is protected by your device's own security. We do not store or back up your data on any server.
7. Your Control Over Your Data
You are in control of your data at all times. You can:
Edit or delete individual entries in the App.
Delete all of your data at once using the "Clear All Data" option on the Account screen.
Remove all stored data by uninstalling the App.
Once you delete your data, it cannot be recovered, because we keep no copies.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App changes in a way that affects how your information is handled, for example if optional accounts or cloud backup are added. If that happens, we will update this policy and change the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
