Short description:
The invention relates to the chemical industry. The vacuum chamber of the plasma-arc reactor 1 is filled with hydrocarbon gas. An electric arc is ignited by touching the graphite electrodes 3 and 4. High-temperature pyrolysis is carried out. Hydrocarbon gas is fed into the reactor chamber 1 continuously. The growth of carbon nanostructures occurs on a silicon wafer 2. The silicon wafer 2 has the shape of an annular washer on which catalyst particles are deposited. The resulting hydrogen is removed through a palladium filter 5 and by means of a compressor pump 6 is pumped into the reservoir 7. The invention makes it possible to obtain single- and multi-walled carbon nanotubes without admixture of other modifications of carbon and hydrogen.
