Welcome to my website! I am a sociologist (PhD University of A Coruña-Spain). I currently work as Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Communication Sciences at the University of A Coruña (UDC). My research work is carried out under the ESOMI Group and it is oriented to study international migrations, sociology of care and the family and the analysis of social policies. After obtaining my PhD I focused my research on the analysis of female migratory flows and the care needs within families, connecting them to the framework of social policies and, therefore, analyzing the potential impact of public programs directed to long-term care in the creation of an irregular labour market based on migrant domestic workers. Nowadays, I am interested in analysing of social organization of care from a community perspective (commoning care), studying life sustainability and the resistance strategies assumed by transnational families in order to face new social risks.
