Authentication information: As stated above, the sciebo Android app communicates with the sciebo servers operated by Mnster University. ownCloud GmbH does not have any kind of access to sciebo servers and receives authentication data from nowhere.

Device Storage: The sciebo Android app will store in the device those user files that are downloaded from user servers. ownCloud GmbH does not have access to such information. Explicit permission is asked in the first installation, so that the sciebo Android app will be granted to read and write from device storage.

Sciebo is operated as part of the Sync & Share NRW project, in which 22 universities from NRW are involved. Sciebo is a non-commercial cloud storage service for research, studies and teaching and is based on the company version of the open source software ownCloud.

Unlike many cloud offers (Dropbox, iCloud, Office365, ...), your data at sciebo is processed exclusively at universities in NRW (Bonn, Duisburg-Essen and Mnster) and is therefore subject to German legislation.

The availability of sciebo also depends in particular on the availability of the network connection to the service. Maintenance and repair work will only take place during normal business hours (5-day week).

Although data is stored redundantly, data loss cannot be ruled out. If you accidentally delete data, it may not be possible to recover it. There is no additional data backup by sciebo or the University of Paderborn. Please carry out data backups yourself to avoid data loss.

An der FernUni knnen Forschende, Lehrende, Mitarbeitende und Studierende den Dienst auf freiwilliger Basis nutzen. sciebo ist datenschutzkonform und kann kostenlos unter Beachtung der Nutzungsrichtlinien verwendet werden.

Aufgrund der neuen Nutzungsbedingungen zur dienstlichen Verwendung von sciebo, ist es erforderlich, dass alle Mitarbeiter*innen sich vor einer Registrierung und zwecks Annahme der neuen Nutzungsbedingungen freischalten lassen mssen. Bitte verwenden Sie hierfr folgendes Webformular. Melden Sie sich dort bitte mit Ihrem FernUni-Nutzernamen und -Kennwort an.

Bitte beachten Sie, Sie mssen sich auch dann fr sciebo freischalten lassen, wenn Sie bereits vor dem Stichtag 08.12.2020 bei sciebo registriert waren. In diesem Fall ist nur noch eine Freischaltung ber das Webformular, jedoch keine erneute Registrierung erforderlich.

Fr die Nutzung von sciebo ist eine einmalige Registrierung in einem sogenannten Self-Enrollment-Portal notwendig. Sie finden den Link zur Registrierungsseite unter Menue "Registrierung". Whlen Sie im Dropdown-Men aus der Liste "FernUniversitt in Hagen" aus und Sie werden auf die Shibboleth-Seite der FernUni umgeleitet.

In der Anmeldemaske geben Sie bitte Ihren FernUni-Benutzernamen und Ihr Kennwort ein. Studierende geben hier ihre Matrikelnummer mit einem vorangestellten "q" als Benutzernamen und ihr Kennwort ein. Die Auswahlboxen "Anmeldung nicht speichern" und "Attributfreigabe ..." brauchen nicht ausgewhlt werden. Mit Ihrer Anmeldung besttigt der Shibboleth-Dienst der FernUni Ihre FernUni-Mitgliedschaft und Identitt gegenber sciebo. Sie mssen lediglich die Einwilligungserklrung zur Datenbermittlung an sciebo besttigen. Ihr FernUni-Kennwort wird nicht an den sciebo-Provider bermittelt.

Auf der sciebo-Seite werden Sie aufgefordert ein eigenes Kennwort fr sciebo einzugeben. Aus Sicherheitsgrnden empfehlen wir, dass Sie hier ein anderes Kennwort als Ihr FernUni-Kennwort whlen. Nach der Registrierung sind Sie noch nicht automatisch im sciebo-Bereich der FernUni angemeldet.

Nutzen Sie dazu Ihren FernUni-Benutzernamen mit der Ergnzung @fernuni-hagen.de und Ihr sciebo-Kennwort. Benutzername ist hier der FernUni-Accountname bei Beschftigten und "q" + Matrikelnummer bei Studierenden. Ihr Kennwort haben Sie whrend der Registrierung selbst festgelegt.

sciebo - a neologism of science and box - is a cloud storage service by and for universities in NRW that enables the storage, sharing and synchronization of university-related data. The special feature: Unlike commercial providers, the data is processed exclusively by the universities themselves and strictly in accordance with the German Data Protection Act. The most common cause is that staff, people with whom the data is to be shared, have registered but have not yet made an initial registration on the web interface ( -bielefeld.sciebo.de).

Only with this registration the account is activated in Sciebo.

Guest accounts can be created via the my.sciebo portal. The guests are entered with an e-mail address.
