Distributing 750 trees for the Tennessee Environmental Council’s (TEC) 100K Tree day
Local residents ordered trees from the TEC and picked them up at Troop 1's charter church where we were distributing the trees
Coordinated with volunteers from Troop 1, two Girl Scout Troops, and members of a community church to distribute the trees
Planting 85 trees at Harlinsdale Park's Tree Nursery in Franklin, TN
Harlinsdale Park has a tree farm for trees that will be later planted around the city
My Eagle Scout project saved the city time and money by providing the park with free trees and volunteers to plant them as well as allow local residents to become involved with their community and “get out” and enjoy the outdoors
Coordinated with volunteers from the Tennessee Women in Green and Troop 1 to plant all 85 trees
A local family also planted a tree to remember a loved one who had recently passed away.
Planting 50 trees at Smith Park Tree in Brentwood, TN
Smith Park is a brand new park with beautiful trails that have tall canopy trees, but lacks other kinds of trees to occupy the lower parts of the forest
My Eagle Scout project was an opportunity for the park to get trees it needed at no cost and for people to get to know the park
Coordinated with 53 volunteers from the Troop 1 and a Cub Scout Pack to plant all 50 trees
The Cub Scouts took this opportunity to complete their “World Conservation Award” badge
Very rewarding to see the volunteers engaged in their work, collaborating with each other, and excited about preserving the environment.
Planting and distributing another 115 trees through local school and parks
Tree planting demonstration for Cub Scouts at Smith Park
Showing Cub Scouts how to plant a tree - leaving a cone of dirt at the bottom of the hole to spread the roots out on and gently put dirt around the tree "'flat like a doughnut'"
Worked with my fellow Boy Scouts to split the Cub Scouts and their families into groups to organize them and coordinate planting sites

Almost all trees planted showed signs of growth and still remain there as of Fall of 2019
