More About Me

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Statement: Numerous compelling justifications exist for promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the realm of science; however, a singular rationale suffices: it is an unequivocal moral obligation. I ardently hold the conviction that every individual should have the chance to engage in the field of science, irrespective of factors such as race, faith, gender identity, sexual orientation, economic circumstance, nationality, or physical ability. Equitable treatment for all in their pursuit of this opportunity is an essential principle, and it is paramount that everyone feels embraced, secure, bolstered, and esteemed within the scientific community. Enacting this ethical commitment fortifies our community, enriches its contributions to society on a broader scale, and serves as a beacon of our collective values.

People Say About Ranjit:

“Dr Ranjit, the reserach you do is absolutely amazing! Your passionate heart in teaching research is what has inspired me to aspire for getting involved in polymer reserach. I know very well that many will be benefitted from your fun-filled teaching skills. By the way thank you for the fresh vegetables from your garden which helped me to feel at home when I was missing my home food. Thank you for taking care and guidance during my visit to GIST"

“My name is Adina, and currently I am a 2nd PhD student at Johns Hopkins University. I came to know Dr. Ranjit during my internship in 2018 at GIST, South Korea where he was my mentor. Dr. Ranjit was an excellent mentor who taught me various techniques such as how to synthesize polymers via ATRP, how to characterize the synthesized polymers and do data analysis. That valuable lessons Dr Ranjit taught me during my stay at GIST, served as a good foundation for my future scientific endeavors. He always tried to lead to the answers instead of just directly giving the correct one and was extremely patient. He made sure to find time to work with me everyday despite of his busy schedule and was always providing feedbacks on my work. Dr. Ranjit not only shared his scientific knowledge with me but also gave me an incredibly useful life advices and inspired me to become a scientist."

“I am Dhiman Ray, a postdoctoral fellow. I came to know Dr. De when I joined in PhD. He didn't just teach me a few instruments; he taught me how to execute a plan. I am impressed with his thoroughness in research work, and persistence. He is the epitome of patience. As I have seen his activeness in research, I have also seen your involvement in various social activities. It seemed like how he completed so many things neatly. Now, along with his publication, I am impressed by seeing his communication with prominent people involved in scientific research in various branches of science. I am grateful to him for encouraging me, providing me information information on various aspects."
