Standard Requirements for Notarization
in the Philippines
To have your documents notarized, please ensure you provide the following to the Notary Public:
Extra Original Copies
Bring one additional original copy of each document. (ex. if you need 4 notarized copies of an affidavit, you must provide 5 copies to the Notary Public).
Present a Government-Issued ID or a photocopies of Valid Government-Issued IDs for all signatories, examples of acceptable IDs include:
Passport
Driver’s License
Postal ID
PhilHealth Card
SSS ID
PRC ID
Senior Citizen Card
NBI Clearance
Police Clearance
Voter’s ID
Additional Reminders:
All signatories must personally appear before the Notary Public to present and sign the documents.
Representatives are only allowed if they bring a notarized Special Power of Attorney (SPA) or Authorization Letter.
If the signatory is unable to make a personal appearance, please provide an authorization letter or the contact number of the signatory for verification.
Documents must be signed within the same city or municipality where the Notary Public is authorized to operate.
Documents signed overseas cannot be notarized in the Philippines.
