What do i mean by "rig"?

A "Rig" is a style of animation where a pre-existing artwork is cut up and given "life" by moving the pieces, as opposed to a frame-by-frame style.  It has its limitations, but is helpful with some projects and can be used WITH a frame-by-frame style. Think about it like a paper doll you put pins in to move the limbs, except with a bit more flexibility!

A "rig" also refers to giving "bones" to a 3D model to make it move, also called "rigging" - a VERY important part of 3D animation. While more experienced in 2D rigging, I do both! These samples are overlays i made for streaming using this method!

Dare you ask... What is a "Vtuber"?

A VTuber, short for virtual YouTuber, (though often they are on other platforms like Twitch, Kick, Or even TikTok!) are an online content creator who uses a virtual avatar. This avatar is often Rigged to move in real-time with their face to engage with an audience on their chosen platform. The avatar is the persona through which the VTuber interacts with viewers in place of their real face, and it adds a unique and creative element to their content, often people feel more "themselves" expressing this way! Vtubers can be 2D and, on occasion, 3D!

I also often Rig and make the art for these!

EMOTES AND SUB ALERTS

On occasion i've made emotes for myself and other streamers, some animated via rigging, some still images. on twitch you can upload limited amounts of these emotes for your community to use! I've also made Sub alert animations for follows or subscriptions!
