自己紹介

クラフトとは無縁の外資系IT企業に総合職として勤務する傍ら、寸暇を惜しんで日本およびスウェーデンで染織を学びました。2013年、長年勤めた会社を退職し、「RAND o RUTA（ランド・オ・ルタ）」の工房名で本格的な制作活動を開始。現在は、織物を中心に、洋裁・編物・木版画などの創作を行っています。

糸の染色から布のデザイン・織り・縫製まで一貫して自ら手がけており、タペストリーやラグといった大きな作品から、服、バッグ、ブローチといった身につけるアイテムまで幅広く制作。素材の特徴、様々な織りの技法、交じり合う色彩、の組み合わせによる織り物の幅広い表現を楽しみ、手間をかけて制作することによる手仕事の温もりを大切に、日々ものづくりにいそしんでいます。

また、創作とは別に旅が好きで、これまでに40か国以上を巡ってきました。それぞれの国や地域でのすばらしい自然や手工芸品との出会いから得た刺激や感動は、少なからず私の作品づくりに影響を与えています。

略歴

• 1994–2007　織造形家・玉川大学芸術学部元教授 内山洋子氏に師事

• 2010　勤務先の永年勤続特別休暇を利用し、スウェーデン・ストックホルムのHandarbetets Vänner Skolaにて織りの集中講座を修了

• 2012–2014　文化服装学院 生涯学習「文化式服づくりステップアップ講座」修了

• 2013　勤務先を退社し、「RAND o RUTA」の名で制作活動を開始

• 2014　タペストリー《冬の街》が第54回日本クラフト展に入選

工房名　RAND o RUTA （ランド・オ・ルタ）

工房名の"RAND o RUTA"は「ランド・オ・ルタ」と読み、、スウェーデン語で、「縞と格子」（ストライプとチェック）という意味です。日本でも人気のスウェーデン人作家、アグネータ・フロック(Agneta Flock)とご主人のお二人が考えてくれました。

About Me

While working in a global IT company in a corporate role—entirely unrelated to the world of craft—I dedicated my spare time to studying weaving in both Japan and Sweden. In 2013, I left the company after many years of service to pursue a new path in textile arts, launching my creative practice under the studio name "RAND o RUTA."  Today, my work centers around weaving, but also extends to sewing, knitting, and woodblock printing. 

From dyeing the yarn to designing, weaving, and sewing the fabric, I carry out every step of the process myself. I create a wide range of items—from large-scale works like tapestries and rugs to wearable pieces such as bags and brooches.

I value the expression that comes from combining the unique characteristics of each material with various weaving techniques, and the warmth that comes from hands-on craftsmanship. Every day, I find joy in making by hand.

Outside of my creative work, I’m also an avid traveler. I’ve visited over 40 countries, and the encounters I've had with nature and handmade crafts in each region have deeply inspired and influenced my artistic expression.

• 1994–2007
  Studied under textile artist Yoko Uchiyama, former professor at the Faculty of Arts, Tamagawa University

• 2010
  Completed an intensive weaving course at Handarbetets Vänner Skola in Stockholm, Sweden, during a long-service sabbatical from my employer

• 2012–2014
  Completed the "Advanced Dressmaking with Bunka Method" course at Bunka Fashion College’s Lifelong Learning Program

• 2013
  Resigned from corporate work to begin full-time creative activities under the studio name "RAND o RUTA"

• 2014
  Tapestry “Winter Town” was selected for the 54th Japan Craft Exhibition

 About "RAND o RUTA"

The studio name, "RAND o RUTA" is Swedish and means 'stripes and checks.' The name was given to me by the Swedish artist Agneta Flock and her husband."
