What is Uniform Crime Reporting?
Uniform Crime Reporting is a national law enforcement program designed to provide a nationwide view of crime based on statistics submitted by law enforcement agencies across our country. Each agency, including RCPD, submits monthly crime statistics to the California Department of Justice and FBI, which are included as part of the FBI's annual Uniform Crime Report.
RCPD has provided a Community Crime Map for residents to view crime statistics and neighborhood crime mapping. Click here to access the map.
RCPD uploads completed crime reports to the map on a daily basis. Crime reports do not include general calls for service or police activity when there was no crime report. In addition, some data is withheld to comply with the law and to protect the rights of victims in cases such as sexual assaults, crimes against children, domestic violence, and calls that are medical in nature. Some data may change if an ongoing investigation identifies more information about the crime.
