Md. Shohel Rana Talukder pursued his Ph.D. in Computational Science (Major. Computer Science) from The University of Southern Mississippi (USM), Mississippi, United States. He received his B.Sc. (Engr.) and M.Sc. (Engr.) degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Tangail, Bangladesh.

Current role as an Assistant Professor at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA), Texas. Also, was previously an assistant professor at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), a Lecturer at Arizona State University (ASU), a Visiting Assistant Professor at Northern Kentucky University (NKU), a Senior Lecturer at Daffodil International University (DIU), and a Graduate Research & Teaching Assistant at USM.

Research interests include Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (i.e., Machine Learning, Deep Learning), Data Mining, Pattern Recognition, Digital Image Processing, Computer/Machine Vision, E-Learning/Distance Learning, Web Technology, and Applied Cybersecurity.

Worked as a Lecturer (Remote) in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering under the Computer Science department at Arizona State University since January 2022.
