Md. Shohel Rana Talukder pursued his Ph.D. in Computational Science (Major. Computer Science) from The University of Southern Mississippi (USM), Mississippi, United States. He received his B.Sc. (Engr.) and M.Sc. (Engr.) degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Tangail, Bangladesh.

Current role as an Assistant Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), Florida. Also, was previously an assistant professor at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), a Lecturer (Remote) at Arizona State University (ASU), a Visiting Assistant Professor at Northern Kentucky University (NKU), a Senior Lecturer at Daffodil International University (DIU), and a Graduate Research & Teaching Assistant at USM.

Research interests include Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (i.e., Machine Learning, Deep Learning), Data Mining, Pattern Recognition, Digital Image Processing, Computer/Machine Vision, E-Learning/Distance Learning, Web Technology, and Applied Cybersecurity.

Worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science under the School of Informatics from August 2021 to May 2022.

Graduated with Ph.D. in Computational Science from the School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering at The University of Southern Mississippi, Fall 2021.
