Dear Ramtastic Students and Families,

My name is Ms. Townes, I will be your teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  I am a proud graduate of Hillcrest High school and excited to come back here as a teacher.  As we venture into this next school year, I would like to share a little bit about myself. I am a graduate of Winthrop University and a recipient of the SC Teaching Fellows scholarship program. I value exploration and real world experiences. Within our classroom, you will have opportunities to explore your interest and work toward goals that will prepare you for life after high school.  Throughout my college experience I have worked for a program called Winthrop Life.  The focus of  Winthrop Life  is  to build and strengthen skills in the areas of  employment, self-determination, health and nutrition,  social networking and independent living. Through this work I have reinforced my love for supporting the growth and self-exploration of students during the essential transitional period from k-12 schooling to adulthood.  Furthermore, I am a recipient of Winthrop's Close Scholars Program, this program required me to volunteer around the Rock Hill community and accumulate at least 112 service hours each semester.  As your teacher, I plan to continue impacting the world through supporting the community that has supported me. My hope is to support you in giving back to your community as you find out your passions and get ready to share your gifts with the world. I look forward to a great year of endless learning opportunities but most of all, an amazing year of getting to know you!
