Engr. Ryan A. Ramirez, PhD, earned his BSc in Civil Engineering in 2011 from the University of Santo Tomas, where he is currently a senior lecturer. In the same year, he passed the November Civil Engineering Licensure Examination. In 2015, he earned his MSc in civil engineering with an emphasis on geotechnical engineering from Pusan National University in Busan, South Korea. In February 2023, he earned his PhD in Civil and Environmental from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Daejeon, South Korea. He is also a technical design consultant at PGA-Earth Structure Solutions, Inc. He is a member of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc.-Lungsod ng Maynila Chapter, the Philippine Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, the International Geosynthetics Society-Philippine Chapter, the National Research Council of the Philippines, and the American Society for Engineering Education. His research interests are utilizing by-products for soil and site improvement, conventional and advanced ground improvement technologies, investigating the effect of wildfire on the hydro-geomechanical properties of burned slopes, and applying satellite remote sensing for geohazards investigations. Throughout the years, he has published several original research articles in top-tier international journals. He serves as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of GEOMATE. He also serves as an active reviewer for international journals. He has also delivered numerous oral and poster presentations at local and international conferences.
