The Smart Irrigation System using ESP32 and Arduino IoT Cloud is an automation project aimed at improving crop yields and promoting sustainable water management practices for smallholder farmers, roof-gardens, and flower tubs. The system uses soil-moisture sensors and water level sensors to collect data, which is transmitted to a gateway unit (ESP32) that triggers actuators to control water quantity. An algorithm with threshold values for soil moisture and water level is programmed into the ESP32 to optimize water use for the crops. The system can be controlled and monitored through web and mobile applications, and it can operate without Cloud communication. The project aims to generate positive economic consequences for farmers and their families by maximizing results using less power.
