Regarding languages, here are my self-evaluations of my fluency in the languages I have indicated in my CV (on a scale of 6):
My mother tongue is Mizo. Score: 6/6.
I can read, write and converse in English at a professional level. Score: 5/6.
I am less fluent in French but I continue to use it for reading novels (Balzac, Maupassant, Flaubert ... ), mathematics, and more. Score: 4.5/6.
I can, and do, read mathematics textbooks in German, although some sentence patterns continue to confuse me. I have never tried to speak it. Score: 2/6.
I can somewhat fluently but incorrectly speak Hindi; although I have to use it for most transactions in the market, my knowledge of Hindi is unlikely to improve anytime soon. Score: 0.5/6.
My knowledge of Chinese is somewhat theoretical and impractical; I may understand some poetical terms but then the simpler and everyday expressions are not all familiar to me; it is however improving due to my interest in Chinese dramas. Score: 0.5/6.
When people speak Bangla, I can sometimes correctly guess the meaning, and I know a few very short expressions. However, this does not count as knowledge at all. Score: 0/6.
