Large Ball
Strikerball is a great little game to work on aspects of goaltending, fielding, striking, and reaction time. Circle groups of any size can play this game together and try to score points by striking the ball between the legs of another player. This game is very similar to Gaga Ball.
Groups form a circle in the playing area, each person standing foot-to-foot with the people beside them.
Players must strike the ball around with their hand, trying to score a point by rolling the ball through another players legs.
Play continues on for determined amount of time or score.
Players can try to stop or block the ball with their hands or arms, but can’t close their legs up to prevent a goal.
Players cannot move their legs.
When a point is scored, the person who was scored on must go and retrieve the ball.
Additional Rules
Instead of playing with points, the game can be played with eliminations. When a player has the ball roll between their legs, they are eliminated. When the group size is too small to form a circle (4 or less players), the players can stand further apart from each other.
This game can also be played in teams
Make sure the campers are within view of a counselor.
If it is an elimination game, make sure the eliminated campers are also being supervised.
If the ball goes in a hard to reach area (under a bunk, in a bush, etc.), make sure a counselor or staff member retrieves the ball.
