“Workers Over Billionaires” Rally and March Mobilizing Against the Billionaire Agenda this Labor Day at Town Point Park
Local groups are part of coalition to stop the billionaire takeover and
rampant government corruption this Labor Day
(NORFOLK, Va. – August 29, 2025) -- In addition to the traditional barbecues this Labor Day, workers and families are fighting back to defend democracy.
"Donald Trump and his allies have defied the law, ignored the courts, dismantled diversity and civil rights protections, severely harmed environmental protections, and made historic cuts to education, healthcare, and veterans’ benefits. These authoritarian excesses have enriched Trump, his family, and his billionaire allies -- all at the expense of the working class. The people of Hampton Roads have had enough! This Labor Day we are rising up!,” said, Sharon McQueen, event co-organizer.
The Workers Over Billionaires Rally & March will provide community, solidarity, inspiration, hope, and COURAGE. Protests give people the courage to stand up. To resist. Join us,” said Co-Organizer of the “Workers Over Billionaires” Norfolk event, Dr. Sharon McQueen.
