I was recently playing gt7 and going through tht music rally missions and found out that on the 'Drift' at road Atlanta doesn't end the game when the timer goes off. I've completed it twice, but once the time runs out the screen is overlayed with the image of the race challenge and nothing else. You can still feel the controls of the car and hear everything, but you can't see the car on track.

Sno*Drift is a rally racing event held in Montmorency County, Michigan, annually, with headquarters in Atlanta, Michigan. The event was the first Rally America National Rally Championship event of the season, and is currently the first American Rally Association National Championship.[1] Sno*Drift is a winter rally, run primarily on snow-covered gravel surface roads, and is held in January or February. Unlike other snow rally events, studded tires cannot be used per Michigan law, which makes Sno*Drift particularly challenging.[2][3]

Sno*Drift saw 50 entries in 1982 with 31 finishing the rally even though there was no snow. John Buffum and Tom Grimshaw took first with an Audi Quattro, with second going to Rod Millen and John Bellefleur in a Mazda RX-7 and third to Doug Shepherd and Jim Roller in a Colt. The production class winners were Guy Light and Jim Brandt in an Oldsmobile Omega, followed by just 24 seconds by Gene Henderson and Jim Kloosterman in their AMC Eagle SX/4, and Erik Zenz and Lawson Smith in a Saab 99 EMS.[9]

In 2000, Sno*Drift was promoted to a full national event. It became part of the SCCA's ProRally series and would run all of the stages that comprised the rally. In addition, there would be two SCCA ClubRally events. The first, titled simply Sno, covered the first portion of the rally's stages, and was considered a coefficient 2 club rally, while the second, entitled Drift, covered the remaining stages and was scored as a coefficient 3 club rally. Competitors could enter any or all of these rallies and score points in the appropriate series

In 2002, Sno*Drift was expanded to cover two days, with the Sno club rally covering day one and Drift on day two. In 2003, the event was awarded the ProRally of the Year title by the SCCA. The 2004 event was marked by heavy snow.

Higgins brings extensive rallying experience to SRT USA, most recently competing in the Chinese Rally Championship having gone on to help his team secure championship titles in 2004, 2007 and 2009. No stranger to the American rally circuit, Higgins claimed consecutive SCCA ProRally titles in 2002 and 2003 before returning to the UK and winning the 2004 British Rally National Championship. Notably, the 38 year-old driver has also won the Group N British Rally National title in 1997, 1999, and 2002. Subaru Rally Team USA driver Travis Pastrana has earned a decisive victory at Michigan's Sno*Drift Rally, round one of the 2009 Rally America National Championship at the wheel of his 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. Pastrana, the three-time defending Rally America National Champion, controlled the rally from start to finish, winning eleven of the twenty competitive stages on his way to a margin of victory of nearly two minutes. Pastrana's Subaru teammate Ken Block was forced to retire after a spin damaged the engine on his Subaru early on day one. The victory at SnoDrift is sweet redemption for Pastrana after being stripped of a likely win at last year's Sno*Drift Rally when he collided with a deer while leading the rally with just eleven miles to go. "It's a great way to start the season, coming away with maximum points under my belt," said Pastrana. "But every mailbox looked like a deer on that last stage!"

Dave Mirra had a less eventful rally, the BMX legend and burgeoning rally driver drove smart and trouble-free to achieve a 6th overall finish, his best ever Rally America National Championship result. Mirra's rally program will expand in 2009 with increased support from Subaru of America, Inc. and Monster Energy that will see him join Subaru Rally Team USA drivers Ken Block and Travis Pastrana at all nine rounds of the 2009 Rally America National Championship as well as X Games 15. Mirra will compete in the new Super Production class and will debut a 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI early in the race season.

"Although it's a shame that Ken and Alex weren't able to finish the rally, their competitive stage times up until their DNF along with the strong finishing results of their teammates are a good reflection of our Impreza platform working so well in such difficult conditions and indicated that SRT USA was on point with set-up for our cars," mentioned James Han of Subaru of America, Inc. Adds Han, "The series competition looks very solid [this year] especially within the Open and SP classes. It should be very exciting."

The lack of studs, though, makes for arguably a more compelling race, further leveling the playing field and testing a driver's true skill. "We're much more of a driver battle," said Berger, "and not simply a horsepower battle."

This year's Sno*Drift featured 40 cars, with drivers running the gamut from experienced rally racers to first-time entrants. The lack of studded tires adds to the event's affordability, making it a nice entry point for those interested in picking up the hobby. "All said and done, this car is about six grand," says Kyle Cooper, standing alongside his '91 Golf GTI. A frequent short-course racer, Cooper had been involved as a crew member in previous Sno*Drifts, but this was his first time competing.

The act of spectating is an adventure unto itself, especially at Sno*Drift, as fans navigate icy, unlit country roads through fog, rain, snow, and darkness. "It's really wild to be a spectator," said Rokus, who has loved rally racing since he was a child. "You race to one spot, watch for a bit, then whip out your map and zoom to the next area.
