Scott Mitchell is a USPTA Master Professional and considered an industry leader in first-class facility operations/management, junior and adult coaching, and program design and implementation. Scott currently is the CEO of Tennis Memphis where they manage all of the City of Memphis tennis facilities, including the brand new world-class 36 court Leftwich Tennis Center. Scott was formerly the CEO for Premier Sport International providing innovative and profitable solutions for clubs/facilities and professional tournaments around the world. He has been involved in some of the largest and most prestigious facilities in the U.S. such as The Landings Club in Savannah, Greater Midland Tennis Center, and Charlotte Country club and many of the worlds’ leading professional tennis tournaments. He has been the Executive Director of Racquet Sports with over 30 years experience at private clubs, public facilities and resorts. He continues to share his experiences through career development and facility operations consulting and management.

Scott’s coaching background is extensive as he has won a National Championship as an assistant coach at Georgia Perimeter College. Scott is a PTR Master of Tennis Junior Development, PTR National Tester and Clinician, a USTA Coach Youth Tennis Faculty Member, a USTA National Zonal Coach working with many of the nation’s top boys and girls, and a sought-after speaker on tennis operations, management and coaching with the USPTA, USTA, PTR, and around the world.

Ashley Owens is an entrepreneurial visionary, co-founded CourtReserve, a leading software solution that revolutionized club management, court reservations, and events/programming management for racquet sports, with a primary focus on tennis. CourtReserve is utilized by 2.5M global players, is used by organizations in over 19 countries, and is continuously celebrated for innovation, superior customer service, and its commitment to excellence in the tennis industry. Based in St. Augustine, Florida, with her husband and CourtReserve Co-Founder Tim Owens, her passion for racquet sports shines in her community involvement and in supporting other women in tech and racquet sports--two industries that have historically been primarily dominated by men!

Edgar Giffenig was a highly ranked junior in Mexico and played for the University of Texas where he completed an undergraduate degree in business and a graduate degree in exercise physiology.  Edgar started his coaching career as an assistant coach for the University of Texas.  He then became national coach for the United States Tennis Association, where he traveled with a very talented junior national team, which included many future stars like Mike and Bob Bryan, Vince Spadea, Paul Goldstein and Justin Gimmelstob. He then became a national coach for the German Tennis Federation and the Mexican Tennis Federation. Throughout his career Edgar has worked with hundreds of players of all levels and ages from beginners to professionals. 

Edgar currently lives in Connecticut where he directs the tennis program at the Norfolk Country Club and at the Hotchkiss School. Edgar is involved in coaching education worldwide and was a member of the International Tennis Federation Coaches Commission.  Edgar still likes to compete and finished 2016 ranked five in the 55’s and over ITF world rankings. 


Chris Hoshour is a USPTA Elite Pro with a Specialist in Competitive Player

Development, a Master Pro with the PTR in Performance and a Certified ATP

Tour Coach. He has coached two NCAA Champions and a NCAA finalist as well

as players on both the ATP Tour and WTA Tour. Thoughout his 30 years of

coaching he has developed many Top 10 USTA Junior players as well as many

Gold, Silver and Bronze balls. On the collegiate scene he has worked with

players playing at many of the top programs in the county from Stanford, Virginia,

UNC and UCLA. Currently he has players playing at Michigan State, South

Carolina, SMU, UPenn , Villanova and Middleberry College. Developing and

mentoring juniors and young professionals to reach their highest level they can

reach is his passion.



MJ Garnett is the Director of Tennis at Windyke Country Club(27 years), Co Director of Tennis for Town of Collierville (25 years) and Head Tennis Coach at Christian Brothers University(9 years). These programs serve the largest country club membership in Tennessee, provide for the largest public middle/high school teams in Tennessee and are leading their university in combining athletic/academic/community service success. MJ has served USPTA Southern as a board member, tester and speaker. His staff has been recognized for excellence in playing, teaching, coaching, coordinating and philanthropy. MJ lives in Collierville, Tennessee, with his wife and four daughters.
