July Evening in Hippocrates Square

Received 1st place in St. Augustine Art Association "Here and There" exhibit May 2022. 

Inspired by my family’s visit to Rhodes, Greece in summer 2021 Hippocrates Square is a main gathering place, especially in the evening. I wanted to capture the sensory overload one experiences at ground level among throngs of tourist, hawkers and vendors illuminated by the brightly lit shops and restaurants that encompass the area. If one gets overwhelmed, cast your gaze upward and take respite in the vast dark sky punctuated by medieval architecture.
