Hello, I am Rakesh Sharma, presently working as an Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) at Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, Karnataka. I have done my B.Tech and M.Tech (Thermal) in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Raipur in 2009 & 2013 respectively. I am a PhD graduate in the Discipline of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Indore, India. After defending my PhD thesis in Aug 2018, I worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at IISc Bangalore, India for two years from December 2018 to November 2020. Later, I joined German Aerospace Centre (DLR) Stuttgart, Germany as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow for another two years from Jan 2021 to Dec 2022. I have been awarded scholarship by DAAD, Germany under DLR-DAAD Research Fellowship - Postdoc Program to carry out research at DLR.

My research area is emphasized on thermochemical gas-solid reaction for various applications like high temperature solar thermal energy storage, cabin heating in hybrid/electric vehicle and refrigeration/heat pump etc.
