R
akesh Ranj
an is currently working as a Research Associate at
Polytechnique Montre
al, Quebec, Canada. He is d
eveloping
simplified and refined methods for the design of aluminum pony truss bridges. His
focus is to study the behavior of a top(compression) chord in pony truss bridges under varying stiffness of U frame (floor beam, truss vertical, bottom chord, and diagonal members). For this project, he is
performing laboratory tests and 3D finite element modelling. Rakesh has performed his doctoral research in the area of metal fatigue and fracture mechanics.
