Hello. I am Dr. Rajib Biswas, Associate Professor, Department of Physics.

Welcome to the Applied Optics and Photonics & Geophysical Lab at Tezpur University (Central University). As the mentor of this group, I offer my warm welcome for visiting our website and pausing for  plausible scientific interests with our research group. As the in charge of this lab and head of this group, any suggestions or discussions with members of our group with your scientific interest are well appreciated.

This lab is devoted to two fields, one is Applied geophysics and the other is dedicated to Applied photonics.

In former category, we study seismic wave dynamics through instrumentation. Apart from that we carry out ambient noise analysis to infer relevant parameters pertaining to engineering seismology. Earthquake precursors are also investigated so as to build correlation. Apart from this, PSHA and DSHA are also targeted.

In applied Optics and Photonics aspect, our lab is engaged at developing various sensing units catering to multidisciplinary segments catering socioeconomic problem. Starting with novel materials for achieving better efficiency in sensing, we specialize in 2 D materials, localized surface plasmon resonance. Our team works both on fundamental areas of instrumentation with further scalability in health, environment sectors etc.
